Michael Davis Honored With 2017 William J. Lasarow Award
The Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County presented Michael Davis with its 2017 William J. Lasarow Award on October 26, 2017. This award recognizes the outstanding contributions of bankruptcy pro bono volunteers who offer their time and assistance to individuals who have nowhere else to turn for legal representation.
The award ceremony took place in the lobby of the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Los Angeles with approximately 87 guests. With remarks from Public Counsel Supervising Senior Staff Attorney Magdalena Reyes Bordeaux, Public Counsel President and CEO Margaret Morrow, Bankruptcy Judge Vincent P. Zurzolo, and Clerk of Court Kathleen J. Campbell, the volunteers were thanked for their tremendous impact, serving approximately 4,800 visitors in the district in 2016, a year when the Court had 9,058 pro se filings.
