The Give Back Committee

At BG Law “Your Counsel Matters” is not just for the Firm and the clients we represent but we go further into the community in which we live and support, not just locally but throughout our state, country and abroad. Our committee of attorneys and staff is a driving force in supporting and furthering BG Law’s values. The Give Back Committee acts as a support system both for lawyers and paraprofessionals to provide pro bono legal services to those who could not otherwise have access to the justice system, and for the entire BG Law family to plan and participate in many charitable and community outreach events.

Many years ago, we asked our clients how they would describe our firm and attorneys.  The feedback we received included words like loyalty and tenacity, and phrases like sharing a strong bond and having great attention to detail.  One client went a step further and told us that all of these positive qualities were similar to those of a bulldog.  From this feedback, our beloved bulldog mascot evolved, and our firm has continuously used the bulldog since that time.

We often get asked if our bulldog has a name. The answer is yes, his name is Mastro.  The name is derived from the first two letters of our founding partners names: Mark Brutzkus, Steve Gubner and Robert Ezra.

Mastro has played a significant role in our firm’s branding for many years.  He has appeared on our website, business cards, marketing materials, and on many promotional products for the firm.  He is also a federally registered trademark.  The bulldog is a distinctive source identifier for our firm, and a reminder of our loyal commitment and strong bond which we share with our clients, and yes, our tenacious side when necessary in representing our clients.  The bulldog likewise emulates our firm’s tagline, Your Counsel Matters®.
