Jeff Kobulnick Quoted in Pitchfork on Ariana Grande
Jeff Kobulnick was recently quoted in Marc Hogan’s Pitchfork article “Ariana Grande Sued Forever 21 for Using Her Likeness. What Exactly Does That Mean?” According to Jeff, Grande’s case strikes similarities to the landmark 1993 case in which the Supreme Court allowed game-show hostess Vanna White to sue over an advertisement featuring a robot styled in her likeness, performing her signature letter-turn from “Wheel of Fortune.”
“That was just a classic example of using somebody’s celebrity image without their authorization for commercial gain,” says Jeff. “That’s very similar to what’s going on as alleged in this case.”
