Corey Weber to Speak in Strafford Publications Webinar “Leveraging Receivership as a Bankruptcy Alternative: Financial Restructuring, Disposition of Assets and More”
Corey Weber will be a panelist in the Strafford Publications webinar “Leveraging Receivership as a Bankruptcy Alternative: Financial Restructuring, Disposition of Assets and More.” The webinar will take place on August 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. PDT.
The panel includes Mr. Weber and Stephen Donell of FedReceiver. Mr. Donell has administered and/or been appointed as a federal and state court receiver in hundreds of cases throughout the country. He has extensive experience involving asset and business liquidations, gas stations, restaurants, residential, retail and commercial real estate. He has also administered and/or been appointed in federal court as receiver in U.S. SEC and other government enforcement actions involving business fraud. Mr. Weber is a partner at BG Law, and is a litigator in bankruptcy, business and commercial litigation. He represents bankruptcy trustees, creditors, committees of unsecured creditors, assignees for the benefit of creditors, receivers, municipalities and “clawback” plaintiffs and defendants in contested matters and adversary proceedings in bankruptcy proceedings, and in federal and state court litigation. Mr. Weber frequently litigates complex fraudulent transfer and preference actions, including fraudulent transfer actions in Ponzi scheme cases.
The panel will analyze receivership as a bankruptcy alternative for financial restructuring, sale or disposition of assets, collecting outstanding obligations and enforcing contracts. The panel will also discuss salient issues in representing receivers as well as litigating with receivers in federal and state court.
