BG Law Helps Assemble Food Kits for Senior Citizens at Los Angeles Regional Food Bank
On Saturday, December 7, 2019, a small delegation from the BG Law Family made their way to the City of Commerce to volunteer at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank (“LARFB”). For more than eight years, BG Law has participated in various volunteer events with the LARFB. Three of our veteran volunteers participated on this day; Racey Cohn, Jerry Feldman, and Scott Dressler. LARFB supports over 600 agencies and food pantries throughout the Los Angeles region, handling over 67 million pounds of food in 2018, helping produce millions of meals each and every week. LARFB efforts could not be possible without volunteers, over 30,000 volunteers help with the mission of LARFB annually. There were 150+ volunteers on-site this day from various industries. Three assembly lines were organized to package food kits for senior citizens in the community. On the assembly line that BG was assigned, Racey was assigned to pasta, Jerry was assigned to fruit and Scott D. assisted with fruit and veggies staging for the front lines. Each kit feeds one senior citizen for up to one (1) month. Between all three assembly lines, the volunteers put together 3,248 kits to be distributed in the community. These volunteer shifts can be a lot of hard work but the end result is always so rewarding to see how much we accomplished in less than three hours… Mission accomplished!
The BG Law Giveback Committee will be organizing future events with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank with the first being the annual Food from the Bar taking place in May of 2020. Look for additional details in the New Year.
